What you need:
1 lb Lean Ground Turkey
8 oz fresh mushrooms
1 can (28oz) diced tomatoes
1 jar 16 to 32 oz homemade salsa (another post)depending on your style of chili
1 can 15oz black beans, rinsed
1 can 15oz kidney beans, rinsed
1 can 15oz great northern beans, rinsed
1 tsp. mild chili powder (or you might like it hot)
1 tsp. ground cumin
Cook turkey over medium heat until browned. About 10 to 15 minutes. Add to slow cooker. Add cumin and chili power mix in with the turkey. Add remaining ingredients and stir.
Cover with the lid. And cook on low 6 to 8 hours.
My family likes some shredded cheese, saltines and cinnamon rolls to go with their chili. I add to mine a little scoop of plain Greek Yogurt for some flavor. And it cools it off as well!
Makes about 8 servings - 1-1/4 cups each depending on how much salsa you use.
